No Blogging!

I haven't blogged in a while for a few reasons,
1) we moved and don't have the internet, and won't till after the first of the year sometime. I have to go to my parents and use it when I need to check emails.
2) haven't crafted in a while, so I don't really have much to blog about
3) haven't really had the time

So there you have it, maybe I'll get a more exciting post up soon when we find out if we are having a boy or a girl.

A little get away!

John and I got to take a little trip to the west side of the state for our anniversary. We had a blast, not to mention it was John's first time in Seattle!

This is us at the top of the Space Needle. Having lived in Washington most of my life, I had actually never been to the Space Needle. It was cool to see the city from way up high.

Space Needle from the ground. (Actually the picture is from the courtyard of the Science Center. We got to go there too and really had fun. I think John felt like a kid again playing with all the different little gadgets.

We also got to take a fun little boat cruise around Elliot Bay (which is part of the puget sound). The above picture is from the boat looking back at the city and the below one is of Mt. Rainier. The mountain is usually not visible because of the rainy weather but we had a beautiful day that day and could totally see it.

We also went to the aquarium. They had pools of sea life that you could touch. John thought it was cool, but I thought it was yucky.

Us just being silly. They actually had a live octopus that was really cool, it was a breed that actually lives in the puget sound. (but I didn't take a picture of it because there were a hundred little kids around it)

Above John being silly as usual, and below was at the science center. They had a really cool water exhibit outside and everything was hands on. This was a water wheel thing that showed how energy is created, John got in line and gave it a try.

We also went to Pike's Place Market and just enjoyed time being together. We reall had a good time. I think John really liked his first visit to the Emerald City.

News!!

Ok, so I have been trying to post about our anniversary, but its not going so well, so I'll let everyone know that I finally opened an etsy shop. Not sure if it is really what I want to do with my time, but I am going to give it a try and see what happens. I only have a couple things up so far, but hopefully in the next few days I will be able to add more. If all goes well I'll keep filling the shop. What I've been up to!

Ok, so I have not just been forgetting about this whole blog, just been busy with projects, and waiting to gift them before I could post pictures of them.


This is a cute little apron and chef's hat for a very special friends birthday, and yes, she just loved it!!

Rag quilt for Baby Bridger (my sister's baby)

I have really been into putting cute things onto onsies. The boy ones with the little shoes were also for my sister.

Our neighbor's have a huge tomato garden in our backyard, and I got to reap the benefits. I spent an afternoon making all of this spaghetti sauce that I put in my freezer for the winter months. Let me tell you, it was way more work than I thought if would be, but it sure tastes good!! Well, that is what I've been doing, don't worry, there will be more craft projects coming soon I am sure!

County Fair and Rodeo

Last week was the county fair, and John and I entered a few items. John had some beans from my mom's garden that he entered. He was pretty proud of his second place ribbon!

I entered a bag that I made, a raggy flag quilt, some of my most delicious rolls, and pumkin bread. As you can see, I got first place on all of them. Yep, I still got it, I can enter stuff into the county fair and still get the blue!!

On Saturday John entered the syphon setting contest. (they are metal tubes that some of the farmers use to water their fields, he had to try and set them as fast as he could) He was able to get a few set, good job for never having done it before. Way to go John!

Two of the nights we went to the rodeo. Doesn't John make a great cowboy? Complete with wranglers, boots, buckle and hat!!

Trevin and Colby were in the Cowboy Challenge two different nights before the rodeo started. They had to get dressed in the outhouse with their partner, then put up a fence and weave a wheelbarrow in an out of it, then build a gate and milk a saw horse cow, then get on their stick horse and race back to the outhouse. Colby's team won, and Trevin just gave us all a good laugh.

They did a little firework show right before the bull riding every night. I love fire works.

Well, we had a great week at the county fair!! John, Taylor, and Trevin will be entering the wild cow ride at the Adam's county fair in the middle of next month, so be looking for video and pictures of that!!

Grand Coulee Dam

We had lots of extended family in town and decided to take a trip up to the Grand Coulee dam. On the way we stopped by Dry Falls for a few pictures.

Once upon a time these were the worlds largest waterfalls, but that was really a long time ago.

The boys thought it would be funny to pretend they were going to jump off the edge. I was freaking out, it is a long way down there.

John sitting in front of the dam. Because of this dam, we can irrigate the feilds, and most of the northwestern states have power. At night they bring water over the dam and do a laser light show explaining the history of the dam.
