Crafting for those in need

I found this cool site, crafthope.com. Its a site/blog that has different craft projects that you can participate in and the finished projects are sent to children in need all over the world. They have justed finished the third project and are getting ready to start the fourth, so if you are looking for a way to help out someone in need head over there and see what its all about. I know I am going to try and get in on the next project!

Another Project

This is a fun birthday present I have been working on for a very special friend of mine. Isn't it cute? I got the idea from other craft blogs, but the patterns are all mine. I made all the food out of felt, it was actually quit easy, just took a little time as I am a perfectionist.

4th of July quilt

I was given some scraps of flannel from a friend, and this is what I came up with. I think it turned out really cute. I can't wait to move into the new house and display it on the couch!

San Francisco sweep Sacramento

This last weekend I went to California with my in-laws for a family get-together. John's cousin is leaving for Iraq in a few weeks, so they all thought this would be a good time to get together. Well, John is in Washington already, so I went with them by myself. It was alot of fun, and alot of driving.
I got my first experience with In-n-Out. Sorry to all those that just can't get enough, but I just didn't think it was as amazing as it was hyped up to be. Don't get me wrong, it was good, just not as earth shattering as everyone makes it out to be.

We spent most of our time in the Sacramento area, but one day we were able to spend a little time in San Francisco. I didn't get to see much, Peir 39, the Golden Gate Bridge through some hase, and a Giants game.

I did get to see the Sea Lions that just bask in the sun down near Peir 39. I loved seeing them, but everyone else hated it. It was kind of funny seeing so many people just sitting there watching them for more than a couple of minutes. You see, they didn't really move or anything, so what you see in the picture is what they stared at, kind of funny.

Then we happend upon this guy. He insisted on "shinning" my brother-in-laws shoes. They were canvas for one, and didn't look much different when he finished. There were lots of street performers, some were quite talented.

This is me at the Giants game. It was really cold, it was right on the water. I don' t know what was more entertaining though, the drunks or the game.

White Trash Birthday Bash

I'm sure the title says it all. It was my brother-inlaw and sister-inlaws birthday party on Saturday. We had a really good time.

John the man of the grill. The BBQer was made by his friend from an old water heater, complete with wrench handle. What gets more white trash than that?

This was the clothes line they used to add to the ambiance of the evening. They thought of it all.

Don't worry, they even made use of the old broken hot tub in the back yard. It now doubles as a drink cooler. Actually came in pretty handy the next day as well, we were never lacking a cold beverage!

I had a blonde wig on (as you can see in the first picture), but by the time it came to John and I getting a picture I had taken that itchy thing off!

And this would be my lovely husband showering on the balcony. It was raining so hard that he was able to lather right up. The water was too cold to rinse, but it was raining so hard he could have. It was the perfect way to kick of a day of "white trash"

4th of July Crafts
